Egon Schiele is an Austrian expressionist painter who began his career very young and was recognized by his fathers (including Gustav Klimt) before his 25th year.
He joined Art Nouveau and the Secession before choosing, through the nude his own path and moving towards Expressionism.
His nudes, both self-portraits and those made from models (his mistresses or prostitutes) had a lasting impact on the art of the second half of the 20th century.
He died at the age of 28 of the Spanish Flu.
